Christmas at Disneyland Paris 2026: What to Expect & How to Plan It

You might think Disneyland Paris is magical all year.
And it is.
But Christmas is something else.

There are lights everywhere, festive songs playing non-stop, and Mickey Mouse walking around in a Santa hat like it’s completely normal. It’s cold, it’s busy, and it’s one of the best times to visit.

On my first Christmas trip, I was frozen solid and full of sugar by 10am. But the parades, snacks, and decorations were so good I didn’t even care. You don’t go for a quiet break. You go because it feels like Christmas turned up to eleven.

This guide covers everything you can expect from Disneyland Paris at Christmas in 2025. From the parades and food to the best rides and tips for staying warm.

📅 When Is Christmas at Disneyland Paris in 2025?

The Christmas season at Disneyland Paris runs from 8 November 2025 to 6 January 2026.

Most of the festive entertainment happens in Disneyland Park, but Walt Disney Studios Park also gets involved with lights, themed snacks, and photo spots.

Early November tends to be quieter, while weekends and school holidays in December are the busiest.

If you want the full experience without the biggest crowds, midweek in late November or early December is usually one of the best times to visit Disneyland Paris.

🎅 What Entertainment Can You See at Christmas?

There’s loads happening during the Christmas season, and the shows are genuinely worth making time for. Here’s what to look out for.

The Enchanted Christmas Tree Lighting

Throughout the days and evenings, Mickey and friends light up the giant tree in Town Square.

It’s only a few minutes long, but it’s cute and very festive—especially if you’ve got kids with you.

Keep an eye out in the Disneyland Paris App for timings!

Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade

This runs twice a day and it’s brilliant. Disney characters in their Christmas outfits, floats, dancers, and snow falling on Main Street.

It’s busy, but worth it. I usually try to watch from outside Bella Notte for a decent view without camping out too early.

Let’s Sing Christmas! Show

A proper Disney singalong with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy. There’s also a surprise guest, but the best part is just getting out of the cold and having a bit of a warm-up while everyone belts out Christmas songs.

Nighttime Display at the Castle

At the end of the night, Disney Dreams lights up Sleeping Beauty Castle with a full Christmas-themed show. Expect fireworks, projections, music, and a proper festive send-off.

I didn’t get a video of it last time, but you can check out the video above from the Music Festival version to get a feel for what it’s like. Your expectations will absolutely be exceeded.

📸 Festive Character Meet-and-Greets

Characters get a seasonal upgrade during Christmas, with special festive outfits you won’t see at other times of year. And yes—Santa’s in the parks too.

From 15 November 2025, there’ll be daily character moments in three main areas of Disneyland Park:

  • Town Square – Mickey and friends in their Christmas best
  • Central Plaza – princess meet-and-greets (think Cinderella, Belle, and friends)
  • Castle Courtyard – often home to Aurora and Prince Phillip

These aren’t stage shows, but more casual appearances that still feel really special. Check the app on the day for timings so you don’t miss them.

Alongside the festive extras, regular meet-and-greets still run too. Stitch, Mickey Mouse, and the Princess Pavilion are all available, usually through virtual queues on the app.

🎄 Christmas Decorations Around the Disneyland Parks

If there’s one thing Disneyland Paris does well at Christmas, it’s decorations. The parks are packed with wreaths, lights, and festive details. Every corner looks like it’s been gift-wrapped.

Main Street, U.S.A. is where it really hits you. The music, the garlands, the giant tree in Town Square.

It looks especially good after dark when all the lights are twinkling and the Christmas music kicks in properly.

Over in Fantasyland, It’s a Small World gets a festive overlay that somehow makes it even cuter than usual.

Frontierland goes for more of a cosy, rustic look with wooden decorations and warm lighting.

Walt Disney Studios Park joins in too with lights, themed snacks, and some nice photo spots. But if you want the full Christmas overload, stick to Disneyland Park as your main focus.

🍴 Seasonal Food and Drinks

One of the best things about visiting at Christmas is the food. Between the festive snacks, warm drinks and comfort meals, you’re never far from something that hits the spot.

You’ll find Christmas market-style stalls across both parks, especially around Main Street and near the entrances. The Ratatouille area in Walt Disney Studios Park already feels like a little Christmas market year-round, and during winter it really leans into it.

Expect to see things like:

  • Tartiflette
  • Sausage cones
  • Pretzels and gingerbread
  • Mulled wine, hot chocolate and festive coffee specials
  • Waffles, themed cupcakes and Mickey-shaped cookies

My go-to is always the Christmas Tree Waffle. It looks good and tastes even better.

If you’re after a sit-down option, Auberge de Cendrillon usually has a festive set menu. For something quick but warming, Café Hyperion tends to have seasonal burgers or snacks.

Menus change a bit each year, so have a look at the chalkboards or check the app when you’re in the park to see what’s available that day.

🧣 Tips for Visiting Disneyland Paris at Christmas

A few things are different at Christmas, so it’s worth planning ahead where you can.

Dress for the weather

It gets cold. Like really cold. You’ll want warm layers, a decent coat, gloves, and something for your head. Standing around for parades and evening shows is much less fun if you’re freezing.

Use the app

Character meet-and-greets like Mickey, Stitch, and the Princess Pavilion usually use a virtual queue.

The app also shows parade times, show schedules, and pre-ordering food. Very handy when you’re juggling layers, snacks and crowd levels.

Get to the park early

Mornings are quieter and it’s easier to get on a few rides before the crowds build up. Main Street is also lovely first thing with the tree lit up and fewer people in the way.

Utilise the Disney on-site hotels

Even if you’re not staying in one, it’s worth popping into the lobbies. They’re all decorated for Christmas and usually much quieter than the parks.

It’s a good way to escape the crowds for a bit, warm up, or grab a drink without queuing for 20 minutes behind someone ordering five hot chocolates.

Stick around after dark

The park feels completely different once it gets dark. The lights, the tree, the castle, the atmosphere—it’s all 10 times better at night.
Bring a portable charger so you’re not caught out with a dead phone just as the fireworks start.

❓ Disneyland Paris Christmas FAQs

Is Disneyland Paris more expensive at Christmas?

Yes, 100%. Prices go up around Christmas because it’s one of the busiest times of year. Disneyland Paris uses dynamic pricing, so the later you book, the more you’ll usually pay—especially for hotels and park tickets.

If you know your dates, get things booked early to avoid spending more than you need to.

Is Disneyland Paris open on Christmas Day?

It is! Both parks are open on 25 December and everything runs as normal, including parades, shows, and food stalls.

It’s a popular day to visit though, so expect big crowds and make sure you’ve booked any meals or extras well in advance.

How cold is Disneyland Paris at Christmas?

Very. You’re looking at around 6 or 7°C during the day and it can drop close to freezing in the evenings. Add in the wind and standing around for shows and parades, and you’ll definitely feel it.

🎁 So, Is Disneyland Paris Worth It at Christmas?

Yes. It’s cold, it’s busy… but it’s so worth it.

The decorations are incredible, the parades and shows are some of the best of the year, and the whole place just feels extra special. If you’re already thinking about it, take this as your sign to go.

I’ve done Christmas at Disneyland Paris more than once, and I’d go back again in a heartbeat. Just pack warm clothes, plan ahead, and be ready to lean into the festive chaos. You’ll love it.
