The Ultimate Guide to Disneyland Paris Rides for Kids (Both Parks!)
I’ve been lucky enough to take my niece to Disneyland Paris twice now—once in January 2024 when she was 7, and again in May 2025 at 9 years old. And let me tell you, it’s wild how much changes in just a couple of years.
There were rides she wouldn’t go near on that first trip that she absolutely smashed this time. Watching her face light up, seeing her conquer stuff she was too nervous for before—it was the best part of the trip.
So this guide isn’t just “here’s a list of rides.” It’s packed with details, real reactions, and little things I wish I’d known when we were planning. You’ll be able to figure out exactly which rides your kiddo will love—whether they’re thrill-seekers, a bit cautious, or somewhere in between.
This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. I only recommend things I’ve personally used, loved, or think will genuinely help you plan your Disneyland Paris trip.

🏰 Disneyland Park Rides for Kids
This is the main park — the one with the castle, the fairytale magic, and all the rides you probably picture when you think “Disney.” It’s packed with a mix of gentle rides, fun little thrills, and a few that are definitely for the braver kids.
🎠 It’s a Small World
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 10 minutes or less — otherwise, come back later.
This one’s an absolute non-negotiable for us. Bright, happy, colorful — and never scary. We rode it multiple times on both trips because it’s just such a feel-good experience.
There are no dark sections, no seatbelts, no height restrictions — it’s perfect for all ages.

Plus, it’s fully indoors, so it doubles as a weather-proof break.
It’s what I call a “filler ride” — perfect when you don’t want to wait in huge queues but still want the kids to feel the Disney magic. Toddlers, bigger kids, grandparents — everyone loves this one.
✨ Peter Pan’s Flight
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅ highly recommended
🚦 Join Queue If: 60 minutes or less.
This is hands down one of the most magical rides in the park. You board a flying pirate ship and soar over London before heading to Neverland. It’s smooth, gentle, and totally non-scary — but oh boy, those queues.

Kids adore the sensation of flying. It’s one of the first rides we head to every trip — but without Premier Access or arriving at opening, be prepared for a long wait. This one is worth planning for.
🐘 Dumbo the Flying Elephant
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: 35 minutes or less
Simple but full of charm. Kids control how high or low Dumbo flies, which makes them feel like mini pilots. We used Extra Magic Hour to ride with no queue, but this ride queues badly later in the day.
It’s one of those rides that feels iconic, especially for younger kids, but it’s over pretty quickly — so whether you want to queue for it depends on how much they love the look of it.
🍵 Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: Under 20 minutes
Pure silliness. You spin as much or as little as you like, which makes it great for different energy levels. We laughed so hard — except for poor Callum, who did not enjoy the motion sickness part. 😅

If you’ve got little thrill-seekers who love to spin until they’re dizzy, this is gold. If your kids (or grown-ups) get motion sick easily, take it slow — or maybe skip altogether.
📖 Le Pays des Contes de Fées (Storybook Boats)
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: Under 15 minutes
This is one of my go-to “rest” rides. Super gentle, super cute, and usually a low wait. You float past miniature scenes from classic fairytales — Cinderella’s castle, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin’s Cave of Wonders, and more.

There’s one tiny tunnel, but it’s super short and not scary. You board via a moving platform, but it can be stopped for anyone who needs it. Pro tip: bring a poncho — we got absolutely drenched when a surprise downpour hit mid-ride.
🚂 Casey Jr. – Le Petit Train du Cirque
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: Under 25 minutes
We LOVE this one. It looks like a kiddie train — but surprise, it’s faster than you expect. Not scary, no dark tunnels, but plenty of speed and giggles as you zip up and down small hills and bridges.

It’s the perfect step up for kids wanting something a little faster without diving straight into Big Thunder Mountain. One of our family favorites for sure.
🔫 Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: Under 30 mins
This one’s all about being competitive. You ride through space helping Buzz defeat Emperor Zurg using laser blasters, and trust me — everyone turns into a competitive lunatic by the end.

At 7, my niece wasn’t a fan of the giant Zurg (“he kept looking at her”), but by 9 she was fine. You control how much your cart spins, so if anyone gets overwhelmed, you can literally swivel away. One tunnel feels like launching into space — not scary, just a bit disorienting.
🪵 Les Voyages de Pinocchio
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: under 15 minutes
Honestly, this one was not for us. My niece hated it at 7 and refused it again at 9. It’s pitch black in sections, has creepy music, sudden loud noises, and super spooky imagery.
It’s way darker than you’d expect for a “kids’ ride.”
Definitely something to skip for sensitive kids (or most kids).
🚗 Autopia
📏 Height Restriction: 81 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: under 35 mins
This ride is a HUGE hit for kids who dream of driving. You steer a little car (on a guided track), and it feels like a real driving adventure. My niece loved the independence of it — even if steering can be a bit wobbly!

That said, queues can be sneaky-long, often longer than you expect because of how slowly the ride cycles guests. Premier Access is 100% worth considering.
🎠 Lancelot’s Carousel
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: under 10 minutes
A total classic. Nothing fancy, just a beautiful carousel with Disney theming, and it’s perfect for all ages. If you need a reset or something gentle, this is it.
👑 Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nain (Snow White)
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: under 20 mins
Deceptively spooky. While it looks sweet from the outside, inside you’ve got sudden darkness, creepy forest scenes, and some decent jump scares from the Evil Queen.

It’s also a bit jolty, so not the smoothest ride.
For brave kids, it’s great. For sensitive ones… maybe not.
🚀 Orbitron (Machines Volantes)
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: You’ve got Premier Access or the queue is under 25–30 mins. This one draws long lines, especially in the afternoons.
Sadly, it’s been closed both times we’ve visited, but it’s clearly popular when it’s open. It’s basically a flying spaceship ride, similar to Dumbo, but with a space theme. You control how high or low you fly while spinning around the central rocket tower.
It’s got great views over Discoveryland and feels like a slightly more “grown-up” version of Dumbo because of the cool retro space theme. Definitely a winner for kids who love flying rides — but brace for queues when it’s running, because it’s a crowd magnet.
⚡️ For Older or Braver Kids
🚀 Space Mountain (Hyperspace Mountain)
📏 Height Restriction: 120 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: under 30 minutes
This one is INTENSE. Pitch black, huge launch start, sharp twists and turns, plus Star Wars theming.

Somehow, my niece rode this at 7 years old and loved it — but not every kid will. Fast, loud, and very dark. You’ll know if it’s a fit.
👻 Phantom Manor
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: under 10 minutes
Genuinely spooky, but not in a jump-scare way — more eerie.
Dark hallways, spooky portraits, ghostly music, and haunted mansion vibes.
I loved it as a kid, but my niece still refuses to try it.
🏔️ Big Thunder Mountain
📏 Height Restriction: 102 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: under 40 minutes
A runaway train rollercoaster with no loops but plenty of fast turns, little dips, and loads of fun.

It’s super popular because it balances thrill without being terrifying. Perfect for kids who want to level up from Casey Jr.
☠️ Pirates of the Caribbean
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: under 10 minutes
Refused at 7, conquered at 9. Pirates is dark, loud, and has three small drops. It feels spooky at first but becomes more fun once you’re into it.

Worth knowing there’s loud pirate singing, canons, and some skeletons — but most kids end up loving it.
🌌 Star Tours
📏 Height Restriction: 102 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: Under 25 mins
A motion simulator that’s bumpier than you might expect. A great stepping stone for kids who are thrill-curious but not ready for big coasters.

It’s Star Wars-themed, fully indoors, and genuinely fun — but if your kid hates feeling jolted or dizzy, maybe skip.
🎬 Walt Disney Studios Park Rides for Kids (and Bigger Kids!)
Walt Disney Studios might be the smaller park, but it punches above its weight. There’s a mix of gentle, fun rides for little ones, plus some proper thrill rides for the braver kids (and grown-ups).
🚗 Cars ROAD TRIP
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 10 minutes or less
Such a fun little ride. You board a goofy tour bus and head out on a “road trip” through Cars-themed scenery, complete with a BIG bang moment that’s louder than expected but super cool.

Queue times are usually low — I’ve seen it drop to 5 minutes easily. Perfect chill ride for little legs needing a break.
🐶 Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin
📏 Height Restriction: 81 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 10 minutes or less.
This is a quick, simple, circular coaster where Slinky chases his own tail. Super easy, super fun — not scary, no dark parts, just pure giggles.

It really is one of the most queue-friendly rides in the whole park.
🧀 Ratatouille: The Adventure
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 30 minutes or less.
My personal favourite ride — no competition. You shrink down to the size of Remy and scurry through Gusteau’s kitchen in a trackless rat-shaped vehicle.

It’s jerky, dark, and can cause motion sickness, but it’s way better now that it’s no longer in 3D. Still a must-do for any age.
🕸️ Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 15 minutes or less
So much fun for any age. You use your hands as web slingers (literally — no device needed!) to catch rogue spider-bots.

It’s interactive, 3D, smooth-moving, and not too dark. The kids love it, the adults get super competitive, and it’s always a good time.
🎈 Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop
📏 Height Restriction: 81 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 30 minutes or less.
Way higher than it looks. It’s a vertical drop ride, but not as intense as Tower of Terror.

You’re lifted up and down a few times — enough for thrills without being terrifying. My niece LOVED it, but if anyone’s scared of heights, maybe skip.
✨ Flying Carpets Over Agrabah
📏 Height Restriction: ❌
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 15 minutes or less.
This one surprised me — it’s basically like Dumbo but with a lot more bounce.

You spin around Genie’s magic lamp and the drops are much sharper and faster than Dumbo — genuinely more fun. Great for kids who love control rides but want a little extra thrill.
🚗 Cars Quatre Roues Rallye
📏 Height Restriction: 81 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: 15 minutes or less — queue moves pretty quickly.
This one surprised us — way faster than it looks. You hop into a little car themed around Cars characters, and it whips you around a figure-eight track at a speed that caught us off guard (in the best way).

Niece absolutely insisted on riding with Callum, which left me and my older sister sat in a car together looking like a pair of overly excited Disney adults — and we had the BEST time. We were laughing the whole way round.
It’s short, sweet, no scary drops, but definitely more of a whizzy, spinny ride than it first appears. Great fun for kids and, apparently, fully grown adults too.
⚡️ For Bigger Kids (or Brave Smaller Ones!)
🎢 RC Racer
📏 Height Restriction: 120 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 30 minutes or less.
Short, sharp, and surprisingly intense. It’s basically a giant Hot Wheels pirate ship ride — zooming back and forth until you almost lift out of your seat.

My niece went on (but I didn’t 😂) and she absolutely loved it. Perfect for adrenaline junkies in training.
👻 Tower of Terror
📏 Height Restriction: 102 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ❌
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 25 minutes or less.
This one’s legendary — and terrifying in the best way. My niece refused it in 2024 but braved it in 2025 and smashed it.

The theming is genuinely spooky: creepy staff, dark rooms, and the haunted storyline with the little ghost girl. The drops are intense but super fun once you’re over the initial fear. We kept cracking jokes in the queue to stop her getting nervous — it worked!
🦸♂️ Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
📏 Height Restriction: 120 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ✅
🚦 Join Queue If: It’s 15 minutes or less. (Can drop to 5 near closing.)
Fastest ride at Disneyland Paris. Totally adrenaline-fueled. You’re launched straight into the dark with loops, corkscrews, and intense speed.

Niece LOVED it, but fair warning — it’s very jerky and twisty, and if you don’t brace your head back, it can rattle you a bit. For true thrill-seekers only.
🐢 Crush’s Coaster
📏 Height Restriction: 107 cm
🎫 Premier Access: ✅ (expensive — around €21)
🚦 Join Queue If: 60 minutes or less. This is always the busiest ride in both parks.
Hands down one of the best rides at Disneyland Paris — and by far the busiest. A dark, spinning coaster where you ride inside a turtle shell, twisting and turning through the EAC (East Australian Current). Faster and scarier than it looks.

Bruce the shark makes a loud appearance at the start (some kids don’t love that).
My niece’s absolute favourite ride — did it both trips and would do it ten more times. Totally thrilling, totally chaotic, totally worth it (if you can stand the queue).

Final Thoughts
I hope this guide’s helped you figure out which rides your kids will love — and which ones might be better to skip. What I’ve learned from visiting with my niece at 7 and 9 years old is that every kid’s different. Some love the big thrills, some stick to the gentle, colourful rides — and some surprise you completely.
No matter what, Disneyland Paris has plenty of magic for every kind of kid. Whether they’re nervous, fearless, or somewhere in between, you’ll find rides that make their faces light up.
