Why I Love Escaping to This Balearic Island in October
Thinking about Ibiza in October and wondering if the weather still holds up? I can tell you it does.
We’ve been, and October in Ibiza is one of those sweet spots. You still get warm sunshine, the sea is inviting, and the crowds have packed up for the season. That means you can stretch out on the beach without feeling crammed in.
It is warm enough to swim, cool enough to hike, and quiet enough to enjoy Ibiza at your own pace. Here is everything you need to know before you book.

Weather in Ibiza in October
Daytime temperatures sit around 23°C (73°F). Evenings drop to about 15°C (59°F), which makes for cooler nights after long sunny days.
You will still get about 7 hours of sunshine each day. October does bring 8 to 10 rainy days, but the showers tend to be quick.

Last year we were caught in a downpour in San Antonio, did a bit of shopping while we waited, and less than an hour later Callum was back out on a jet ski.
That’s Ibiza in October summed up.
Sea Temperature and Beach Days
The sea is still 22°C (72°F), which is warm enough for swimming, snorkelling, and paddleboarding.
The beaches are calmer, the water is clear, and you can finally enjoy the sand without battling for a spot.

One of my favourite memories is snorkelling in Portinatx in October. The water was clear, the beach was almost empty, and it felt like we had it to ourselves.
What to Pack for Ibiza in October
Pack light clothes for the day and something warmer for the evenings. Bring your swimsuit, sunglasses, and sunscreen because the sun is still strong. A light rain jacket is useful in case you get caught in a shower.

And if you are anything like Callum, you might throw in a few Hawaiian shirts too.
Things to Do in Ibiza in October
October is a great time to mix beach days with exploring so ensure you give yourself a few days in Ibiza!
Spend a morning wandering Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s Old Town and UNESCO World Heritage site. The cobbled streets, shops, and cafes are worth the climb.
Take advantage of the cooler weather for hiking. Es Vedrà Nature Reserve has some of the best views on the island, and Sant Josep de sa Talaia is a tougher trail with amazing panoramas.

October is also festival season. You might catch the Fiesta de San Rafael with live music and food, or the Ibiza Light Festival in the old town.
And don’t miss the chance to go wine tasting. Ibiza’s vineyards are small but growing, and sipping local wine while learning about the island’s history is a perfect afternoon.
FAQs
Here are a couple questions you might be wondering about!

Yes. The sea is around 22°C (72°F), which is comfortable for swimming and water sports. With fewer people around, the beaches feel much more relaxed.
Conclusion
We have visited Ibiza in February, May, June, September, and October. Out of all of them, October is still one of my favourites. The island feels calmer, the weather is warm without being heavy, and prices are easier on the budget.
